Matthew O’Donoghue is the founder and director of Southern Biofuels. Matthew had a vision of creating a cleaner, greener fuel alternative using recycled cooking oil. To achieve this, in 2013 Southern Biofuels was founded with the sole purpose of collecting used cooking oil to stockpile so that later it could be recycled into Biofuel.
Matthew knows fuel. He has been supplying different kinds of fuel to homes and businesses across Canterbury (and beyond) since the 1980’s, through our sister company, Southern Heating Fuels.
Matthew’s original business was servicing diesel fired boilers and central heating systems in homes and commercial premises.
Over time, Matthew became invested in developing a more environmentally friendly fuel alternative, and came to invent B20 Biotherm Biofuel, which recycles waste cooking oil to create a fuel which is cleaner burning, has lower co2 emissions and is biodegradable and non-toxic.
